Monthly Wrap Up Post – Goals and More – March 2021

In my last update post, I mentioned trying to do this type of post WEEKLY. I realized, though, that due to working full time, weekly updates are really not necessary. There generally isn’t much to update during the week. LOL

A reminder of my overly ambitious goals are this year are:

✅Read at least 52 books [update: 12 of 52 down, 2 in progress]

✅ Complete 12 online classes or certifications [3 down, considering adding MASTERCLASS to my resource list and getting some writing courses under my belt.]

✅ finish one book, currently a WIP (fiction) [currently about 30% drafted]

✅ A series I would like to plot and begin writing (fiction) [book 1 plotting has begun]

✅ A non-fiction project ready to launch by 2022 [update: currently in testing phase]

✅ Complete one PAINTING and not hate it😅

While I did work toward all of my goals, except ONE, this month – I don’t feel obligated to accomplish them ALL now. I would really like to somehow work on combining my yearly goals with some side-hustle money, and have begun researching possibilities. Yep, distracted. Imagine that….

I have also been trying to work out a way to bring my blogging back in some way. I don’t know WHY I want to. Obviously my time is limited. By the time I get in from work, it’s time to cook, clean up, and head back to bed. So another of my GOALS from 2021 has become how to work in time or tasks into my workday schedule. All the WANTS TO DO and NONE OF THE TIME.

So my accountability update for this Month:

📝Projects:

This non-fiction project is fairly completed. It is printed and currently in the testing phase. Once testing is completed, my plan is to move forward with product listing and example photos. There is so much that will rely on timing and demonstration, etc. This is going to be tuff to pull off. Alas…The next phase of testing should be ready to roll out in May. I really need to have my daily routine down by then.

My other project: the WEEKLY WRITING PROMPTS for 2021 is in full swing. In fact, I have pre-posted up several months of posts. So I am way ahead of the game on this project. The writing prompts are ONE PART of this project and I am working hard behind the scenes on the other part. Learning as much as I can and getting as much done on the back end as I can. Sorry so cryptic, but a girl can only share so much!

📋Productivity:

This has been a pretty good month as far as productivity goes. I have found several apps that I feel can help me achieve my goals. Including: an easy way to work between IPad, Phone, and PC. This has been a huge hurdle for me, since my phone is NOT an iPhone, but I have began using an IPAD almost exclusively. I also found and am testing a good organization app for random ideas, and a good kind of KanBan/post it note app.

I purchased a great iPad stand and have found a “work around” to get the wireless keyboard and mouse I had to work. There is a different stand I really want, but it is sold out and will not be available again until end of April.

🖊Writing:

While I did not get a lot of writing done on my own projects this month, I still feel accomplished in this task.

I began a collab project with Jesse, which started as a joke. I never expected him to bite off on the idea. Next thing I know, there we are with note paper and the iPad and he is working away! We got a lot of plotting done, as well as a working timeline. I do consider this project mostly his, as the plot was his idea. It’s kind of an adventure/thriller. Think SAHARA meets NATIONAL TREASURE. My aim to help him get his idea out. So, I suppose its his story and I am the developmental editor/co-writer. I can happily report with are up to 5100 words on the zero draft. Pen names have been decided. The cover has been designed. We are actively researching one of the main plot points to make sure the premise is viable. Plotting plotting plotting.

I also drug out my old NOTES where I had started planning out one of my story ideas, and began the pre-planning required to make this series work. I am testing out some software to help me keep character and timeline cohesive between all of the books, and began the task arcing the first story.

🧺Around the House:

I am on vacation this week, so everything is really up in the air. Instead of taking some online classes yesterday like I had originally planned, I rearranged the living room, unpacked several boxes of books in the book room and began straightening in there, and read one book while finishing another. (Ummm, its just Tuesday so while I did nothing off my original plan I do still feel I had a productive day)

🔖At Work:

It’s vacation week, so I am really trying to just lock work OUT of my brain this week. I have had several ideas for some good training material to write up when I go back. I refuse to work on it while on vacation, though. IM ON VACATION. 😂

Ps: 924 words in this post. Add that to my weekly tally! Wooo!
